Fran Zamore, ACSW, LCSW-C and Michael F. Shea, MSW, LICSW present “ Aging with Wisdom and Grace ” a group open to adults who are interested in making the rest of their lives the best of their lives. During this group we will look at aging as a time of growth, discovery, and new meaning, verses a time of decline. To accomplish this, we will utilize the techniques of:
Mindfulness
Meditation
Journaling
Contemplative listening
Gentle movement
Centered Discussion
Who am I at this stage of my life?
What is important to me now?
How can I cultivate generosity, gratitude, deep relationships?
What will be my legacy?
The groups are based on the wonderful new book, Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience, and Spirit by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal, and inspired by the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. Fran has been trained by the Institute in the Wise Aging process. Books will be provided to group participants. Michael and Fran will be providing additional, supplementary material from their personal and professional experiences. Because this material is so rich and each topic informs the others, after the initial 8-week series there will be an opportunity to continue exploring these topics in greater depth and detail should participants be interested in doing so.
